Blue Oar UK Mid Cap Unique Companies Fund:

The Fund is managed by John Rosier, the investment objective is to achieve returns above those of the FTSE 250 Index. It is an actively managed fund based on the Blue Oar FTSE 250 Unique Index (Unique Index). The Unique Index was created by Nick Redfern at Blue Oar Securities and seeks to capture the performance of FTSE 250 companies whose products or services are unique i.e. they are the only quoted companies within their particular fields of operation within the mid and large cap quoted arena (FTSE 350)

Examples of unique companies include: Unite Group, the provider of university accommodation; Greggs, the high street baker with over 1300 branches nationwide; Dignity, the funeral services provider; Intermediate Capital, the specialist provider of mezzanine finance and Autonomy, which provides software which sorts through unstructured data, and makes sense of it, whether it is in text, voice or video.

Blue Oar UK Equity Long Short Fund:

The fund is managed by Adrian Akers and is a UK equity Long/Short fund that aims to deliver consistent absolute returns. The fund's objective is to seek an absolute annual return of 15%+ with a volatility range of 6-10%. The aim is to achieve this through the application of sensible risk controls and a diversified portfolio of 60-100 positions. The Fund will not employ extensive leverage, aiming to be no more than 200% geared at any one time.
